Who is Michelle Taylor Willis?
That's a loaded question. I'd like to say I'm just your old run of the mill, wife and mother. Shuttling the kids back and forth to school, going to work, coming home, cooking and starting it all over again the next day. That would be not quite the whole story. A good part of it, nonetheless. I am married. To a pretty cool dude. I have four kids--all boys. You will learn much more about them as we continue to develop this virtual relationship. I still kinda want a little Michelle, but there's something to be said about another chick in my house stealing all of the hubby's attention. I publish a luxury lifestyle magazine in Atlanta, and I am a motivational/public speaker, primarily to entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial women. That's what keeps food on the table.
Now for the fun stuff: I am a triathlete, I speak (relatively) fluent french, I am board Chair for the only french-speaking theater in the US, my baked treats rival that of your grandma's, I am a mean cook, I (along with the hubs) helped plant a church, I mentor students, I volunteer at my kids' schools, I've done some acting, and above all else, I love helping people. People are my passion. Here's the catch: I only help people who help themselves. If you can't meet me halfway, I can't meet you at all.
I chair and serve on several boards: Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Theatre du Reve, I Dare You. I have great friends, and people say I look like Chili from TLC, Janet Jackson, and Serena Williams. Pick one, I guess. As much as I love to sleep, I don't get much of it. I wouldn't say it's overrated, but I am surprised by how well I seem to manage without it. Believe it or not, this really doesn't scratch the surface about what I do or who I am. Rather, I'm just trying to give you a glimpse of what you're getting into here.
I seem harmless, right? Most of the time. But, let me warn you. As much as I try not to be, I am judgmental sometimes. I might be a teeny itty bitty hypocritical (not on purpose, of course), and I'm kinda nice nasty. I hate a dirty kitchen, but a few pairs of shoes loose in my bedroom (and maybe a few cheeze-its) never hurt anybody. Except me, who now has countless little brown marks on the bottom of my feet from stepping on heels. That's beside the point. Ok.
So, now you get to tell me a little about yourself in the comments below. Feel free to be as open as you like. Because I will be very open with you as we move along. I'm hoping I can entertain you, but more importantly, I'm hoping to inspire you, challenge you, and make you better. All while making you lol. Talk soon! Be sure to follow me on the socials @michelletaylorwillis.
